Obituary of Pawan Kumar Dewan
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Pawan Kumar Dewan, who left us peacefully on June 2, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family.
Born in Nawanshahr, India, on December 5, 1959, Pawan immigrated to Quesnel, British Columbia, in 1981 with hopes of building a better future. Through determination, resilience, and a deep commitment to his values, he established a successful silviculture business and spent more than four decades contributing to his community and providing opportunities to many individuals.
Pawan was known to many as a strong but gentle giant—a man of quiet strength, unwavering generosity, and deep compassion. His integrity and work ethic left a lasting mark not only on the forest industry but also in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Harsh Dewan, and his loving mother, Leela Dewan. He leaves behind his proud legacy through his sons: Raman Dewan, Kapil Dewan, and Kamal Dewan, their wives, and his cherished grandchildren: Jaxon, Aiyana, Jordan, and Adrian. He will also be missed by many extended family members.
Pawan faced ongoing health challenges with courage and grace, never allowing them to diminish his warmth or his love for his family. His final moments were spent in peace, surrounded by those he loved most.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by family, friends, and the community. His spirit lives on in the lives he touched and the example he set.
A funeral will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 in Quesnel. Details will be shared with family and friends.
