Obituary of Marnie Eileen MacLachlan

Marnie was born March 13, 1975 in Kamloops BC.  She was a sister to Mark and the family lived in Logan Lake.  In 1977 the family moved to Quesnel where dad was employed by the pulp mill.

Marnie started school at Red Bluff elementary.  In the early years she missed a lot of school due to having a week immune system and getting pneumonia on a regular basis.  Marnie persevered and carried on through Maple Drive and Correlieu.

After grad Marnie went into nursing.  She wanted to be a nurse since she was a young girl.  That was a bit of a journey also.  She started out at BCIT but got sick in the 1^st semester and had to leave.  Next was College of New Caledonia in PG, there the staff went on strike and she had to leave.  She finally became an RN in Quesnel.

Her nursing career took her to the US and finished in Edmonton.  In 2008 she got viral meningitis from a flu shot and her career was over.  In 2009 she moved back home to help with her mother who had been diagnosed with colon cancer.  She really was not much help as she was pretty sick.  A number of drugs helped her live a more normal life.

Marnie became a volunteer at the Red Cross loan cupboard.  She eventually quit it and was volunteering at hospice and senior shopping.  Ironically she was going back to the RC when she passed.

Marnie is survived by her dad, Mike, brother Mark (Erin), uncle Peter (Jill), aunt Cathy (Cec), uncle Bruce, nephew John and niece Katie.  She was predeceased by her mother Mary (2012).
