Obituary of Colleen Joanne Pedrotti

May 14, 1969 to November 17, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Colleen Joanne Pedrotti, who was suddenly taken from us far too soon. Born and raised in Kimberley, BC, Colleen showed her love for animals and the outdoors at an early age. After graduating from high school Colleen began working with horses in Alberta. Later, in 1993 she started her technical diploma in forestry at Selkirk College and began her forestry career in earnest in 1995 when she joined the BC Forest Service and worked in the Bella Coola office until 2000, when she transferred to the office located in Quesnel. It was in Quesnel that Colleen was able to pursue her true love, horses.  Although she continued to work in forestry, she always used to say, “I work to fund my life”, and live she did. On her little farmhouse in the forest, Keilen Ranch, Colleen began breeding Andalusian horses. Colleen was also huge advocate for the welfare of animals and supported the Great Dane Rescue Society and founded the charity, the Canadian Society for the Andalusian Horse. When she wasn’t tending to or spending time with her herd of Andalusian horses or her three Great Dane dogs, Colleen could be found watching hockey, especially the Detroit Red Wings, or spending quality time with her friends and family. Colleen was always ready to laugh and was a kind and loyal soul. Once a friend, always a friend, as anyone who knew her will tell you. Colleen’s dedication to the things she cared about was outstanding, to friends, family and animals alike and her legacy will live on in them.

Colleen was pre deceased by her father Giovanni Pedrotti, her sister Lynda LaBoucane and her mother Joan Pedrotti. She is survived by her sister Lisa Boucher (Mike); her nieces, Nicole and Kristine    Boucher; and her nephews, Ryan and Kyle LaBoucane.
