I first met Gordie in 1996 when I transferred from Victoria to Quesnel. He was one of the first staff members to make me feel welcome and took me under his wing to help me get to know the district. Gordie was kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and willing to share his experience and advice with the new guy, whether it be about forestry, hunting or especially fishing.
When asked what his plans were for the weekend, he often replied "I'm going to give some fish sore lips."
Gordie was a great colleague and terrific neighbour. I will miss him.
Kathy and I send our deepest condolences to Suzanne and the family.
