Eulogy

Olga was born in Manitoba on August the 3rd 1926 and lived there for the first ten years of her life. In 1926 her family packed up and moved across Canada ending up In the Okanogan. She only stayed there for a few years before heading into the Cariboo to homestead in the ‘40s and ‘50s … Growing up on a farm Olga developed a love for animals and enjoyed horseback riding as well as taking care of her dogs and cats..

It was here in the Cariboo that she met and married Sam McKenzie and had 3 children… Allen, Jenny-Lee and Robin. Jenny remembers that her mom always made time to read stories or sing to her and her brothers as they were growing up. Quite often Olga and Sam would entertain the family in the evenings by Sam playing the guitar and Olga singing songs to them…

Olga had a little bit of a wandering spirit and moved many time over the years… Wherever she made her home she always kept busy working in her yard. She would love taking care of her flower gardens and won more than a couple awards for her beautiful landscaping.

Another thing that gave her great joy was cooking and entertaining for family and friends. Always popular were her Sunday breakfasts, where she would make waffles and ice-cream…

Olga was a hard working woman, and would freely give her labour to help others. Volunteering for the church or helping her neighbours and friends, Olga was often happiest when she was giving to others…

Olga Ruth Morris past away peacefully on February 23rd at age of 91 years…
