Obituary of Leone Edna Curtis

March 22, 1932-January 17, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leone Curtis.

Leone (Campbell) Curtis was born in Quesnel March 22, 1932 to Duncan and Eva Campbell.  Leone was one of 15 children and a twin to Leroy Campbell.  She married Allan Curtis April 20, 1964, and together they raised 8 Children.  Leone loved her Family very much, they kept her very busy, as did her many beautiful flower gardens.  Allan and Leone enjoyed their life living along the Fraser River for 57 years.

She was an avid horseshoe pitcher, she loved a good competition and she competed in multiple Summer Games events, returning home with many medals and memories.  She was also a competitive bowler.  She attended the Canadian National Senior Championships, which she took part in, in her 80’s.  Her team was victorious not once but twice during these competitions.  No matter whether Leone was bowling with her Family for fun or in a high stakes competition she always had a competitive edge.

Leone was also a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion as well as the Ladies Auxiliary.  She gave of her time and her incredible cooking ability.  She was always willing to help and give of herself when needed.

This drive and energy she had also carried into her home life.  Leone always worked so hard to keep her home a very tidy home with immaculate flowers gardens.  She would spend hours puttering in her gardens, and she seemed to never get tired.  Her Family was always spoiled by her amazing meals, including her delicious home-made bread, which she made very often.  The neighbours knew when Leone was making bread, the smell would flow through the neighbourhood!!!

Leone was predeceased by her Mother Eva Campbell and her Father Duncan Campbell.  Brothers Jed, Arnold, Albert, Leroy (her twin), Kenny, and John.

Her Sisters Laura, Frances, Grace, Mary and Vera.

Children, Aaron and David, and her Grandson, Jason.

She is survived by her Husband of 57 years, Allan Curtis.  Her Children, Carol (Les), Alice, Donald (Joanne), Edna, Adam (Tamara), and Jennifer (Keith).  Siblings, George (Ruth), Rodney (Bev), and Robert (Marilyn).

She will also be remembered by many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.  She will be remembered as a Courageous, Loving, and Strong Willed Lady who fought an amazing Battle.

Leone passed naturally and peacefully in her home on the Fraser, Sunday January 17, with her Children by her side.  RIP Mom, and Thank You for Everything ❤
