Hello,
I am sad to learn your news of losing Mike. I have no idea why I awoke this morning and wondered where Mike was these days, as I often do of friends of he past. One hit on google and there was the Mike Staves smile of 50 years ago - unbelievable!
I too joined RBC from the UK in 1973 and met Mike when he shared an apartment at 1903 Robson St in Vancouver with Charles Bowyer, also newly arrived in that wonderful city from the U.K. When Mike was transferred I replaced him as Charles' flat mate . We then gradually all got sent here and there and I lost track of Mike, though Charles and I became life long friends and often spoke of Mike. My thoughts are with you ALL ( what a family as I have seen from the memorial video ) . I wonder if Mike stayed with RBC for his career.
