Obituary of Patricia Elizabeth Engebretson
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Patricia Engebretson.
Pat was born and raised in Agassiz BC, spending her younger years on the family farm. After graduation she received her teaching degree from UBC.
She took her first teaching job in Ocean Falls, meeting the love of her life Dennis in 1959. They married in 1962 and welcomed their first son two years later. They moved to Nanaimo in 1966 where they had 2 more children, before moving to Quesnel in 1972 when Dennis took a position as an electrician at Cariboo Pulp and Paper. They settled in Kersley built their home and raised their family for 19 years. Pat was a substitute teacher, teacher and secretary at Kersley Elementary School before changing careers to work with BC Tel till retirement. Pat was the only teacher to show up to work with her snowmobile and 3 kids in tow in the sled. Upon retiring in 1998 she and Dennis travelled for 18 years down south enjoying being Snowbirds and Gypsies.
Pat enjoyed square- dancing, cross- country skiing, pottery, golfing and going fishing yearly with their friends as she loved glamping in the fifth wheel. Pat loved anything to do with crafts from making jewelry to the most beautiful cards received by her family and friends. Above all else she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Pat is survived by her husband of 61 years Dennis, son Gary (Shelley), son Glen (Dianne), daughter Gail (Gurdave), 2 granddaughters, 3 grandsons and 4 great grandchildren. Her brother Brian (Carol), Dennis’s sister Carol, and Neil’s partner Carol as well as many nieces and nephews.
Pat was pre deceased by her Father and Mother Ted and Helen Clarke, brothers Stanley and Neil and her granddaughter Mallory.
