Donnie was a hard worker and began working full time in the bush when he was 16. He remained there until he retired. He initially worked for his father and eventually ran the company with his brother Bob.
He and his wife Lynda were married on December 5th, 1970 and remained together for 52 years. He had two daughters and loved spending time with his family and friends. He led an active life and enjoyed being busy with hockey, curling, skiing, biking and traveling. He was able to continue curling, despite his illness. Thanks so much to all those who supported him in doing this.
As anyone who knows him knows, his passion was for racing. He started racing at 16 and continued until his mid 50’s. He often won 'Sportsman of the Year' as well as many racing events.
Donnie was a “big kid” at heart and was well known for his infectious laughter, sparkling eyes and friendly spirit. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Donnie’s memory, to Maple House in care of Dunrovin Park Lodge. A special thank you to the staff at Maple House for all your loving care; there are no words…
