Obituary of Blayne Willison
We are devastated to announce the sudden passing of Blayne on October 20, 2023. Blayne is our beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend to all.
Blayne was born in Quesnel on August 6, 1983, and grew up in a neighbourhood where the doors were never locked and kids roamed free to play street hockey, hide and seek and spent late nights playing kick the can…simpler times. He participated in many sports growing up including soccer, minor hockey, little league, and senior ball, and won many awards for his efforts. Blayne enjoyed post-secondary time in the nursing program and used those skills to obtain an advanced first aid certificate that was a welcome skill no matter where he worked.
Blayne spent the last ten years out in nature, tromping through the bush around the province, looking for mushrooms and berries. He worked constructions jobs in between, but always looked forward to getting back out into the forest. He especially loved being in the Smithers, Kitwanga and Terrace area, always scouting out properties where he might want to settle.
Blayne could tell a great story, so we always looked forward to hearing about his escapades and the interesting characters that he met during his travels. His laugh was infectious…it will be missed so much!
Blayne was predeceased by his maternal Grandma, Anna Forbes, and Grandad, James Forbes, paternal Grandparents, Harold and Yvonne Willison, and niece, Krysia Anderson.
He is survived by his mum, Catherine Forbes (Ron), his dad, Darwin Willison (Net), brother, Bryce Willison, and sister, Raylene Anderson (Norm). Blayne is also survived by his loving Aunties, Uncles, cousins and so many good friends near and far.
Blayne will be cremated on Thursday, November 2, 2023
