Obituary of Ken Donald

It is with great sadness, that the family of Ken Donald announce his peaceful passing following a short, heroic fight against brain cancer.

The family invites his family and friends, to a memorial tea at 382 Anderson Drive at The Metis Hall on Saturday, November 25 starting at 1:30.   A celebration of life will also take place in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan next year for his family there.

Please remember Kens’ happy and friendly smile, his love for his family, his passion for playing hockey, enjoying a cold beer, helping his family and friends, travelling the quiet backroads of BC across to Saskatchewan, and playing a good Waylon Jennings song.  Golfing was a favourite activity too.  Ken made many friends everywhere he went: from his days at Weldwood, to the cross-country ski club and his hockey teams, and to those who would just strike up a friendly conversation where ever he went.  He had a high regard for an active healthy lifestyle, and as such one would see him biking up to the Pinnacles or around Dragon Lake from his Richbar home.

The family thanks the doctors, nurses, and home care support them for their compassionate care of Ken.  As well to his hockey buddies who supported him this summer, thank-you.
