Obituary of Elizabeth Edna Kohanko
Elizabeth (a.k.a.) Jimmy was born on July 19, 1932 in Vancouver, B.C. and passed away March 02, 2024. She was survived by her daughter Judy (Wayne) sister Kate and brother-in-law John. Predeceased by her husband Mike, son Bruce, her father Lee, mother Margaret, sister Carrile, brothers Bunny and Freddy.
Her family moved to Quesnel and she was raised in Moose Heights. She finished high school and married Mike in1950. She worked for awhile at C.D. Hoy store but then later spent time travelling around with her husband in his work truck. (She always joked that she fell for him because she liked his Ford Louisville truck.)
A few years later she settled into her family life and along came the two children Bruce and Judy. She had many hobbies such as sewing (there was nothing she could not sew or figure out how to change the pattern), watching sports..curling (one of her favorites), knitting, cross stitch, jigsaw puzzles, scrabble and the most enjoyed was camping. Farwell Canyon was her most favorite spot.
She also belonged to the tops chapter for over 30 years which she really enjoyed the group of women and the trips together.
Those who knew her would know the story behind her nick name. Jimmy. She was also known for her constant whistling which will always be remembered. (you knew she was happy then). You will be missed each and every day.
