Obituary of Deborah Gail Unrau
Deborah (Debbie) Gail Unrau (Rosner) passed away peacefully on April 29, 2024, in Quesnel, BC, after her hard battle with Cancer.
She was born in Steinbach, Manitoba, on April 6, 1960.
In 1964, her parents decided to head West and settled in Quesnel, BC.
Debbie is survived by her son Kevin (Danielle), daughter Jody (Jennifer), brothers Vern (Bev) and Howard, and her grandchildren, Laine, Violet, Brody, Lucy, and Lily.
She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, many of whom she cherished as sisters.
She is predeceased by her loving parents, Wilma and George Unrau as well as her brother Wes Unrau.
Debbie wore many hats in her lifetime, each one telling a story of hard work and friendship. From her days at the Nazko Band Office, where she poured her heart into the community, to her time at Walmart, where she greeted everyone with a smile, even when they returned the strangest used items!
To the Pawn Shop she owned in Merritt which was like running a real-life version of her favorite show, 'Antiques Roadshow,' but with a lot more bargaining and a touch of unexpected drama.
And finally to Rona, where she shared many laughs and tears with her coworkers upstairs in the offices and on the sales floor.
Debbie was not only a lake-loving adventurer who loved to go kayaking on any lake she could find,
but also an avid geocacher, finding joy in the thrill of the hunt and the discovery of hidden treasures.
Debbie's passion for geocaching took her on countless adventures, where she was always excited to uncover hidden caches and explore the beauty of nature. Her enthusiasm for geocaching brought excitement to her life and created cherished memories for all who joined her on the hunt.
Debbie was an avid quilter, purse maker, and sewing enthusiast. Her passion for crafting filled her life and touched the lives of many others. Her beautifully crafted projects can be found in various stores around town, a testament to her creativity and skill.
Above all, Debbie was a loving and nurturing grandmother. Her grandchildren brought her immense joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her gentle spirit and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held on August 10, 2024, 1pm-3pm, in The Kersley Community Hall, Quesnel BC, to honor Debbie's memory and celebrate her life.
