Obituary of Wendy Vipond
The family of Wendy sadly announce her peaceful passing while embraced in the love of her family on November 15, 2024.
Thank you Wendy for being you. We are so thankful that you no longer have to struggle and that your body and mind are now resting easy. We are also grateful to have known the real you—the caring, fun, outgoing, social butterfly that we all knew you as.
We will remember with fondness:
- your passion for music and dancing, going to Jam Sessions almost every weekend (and sometimes even convincing the kids and grandkids to come along with you); to even buying your own camper van and learning to drive it just so you could spend even more time at events because Lord knows that having to drive home every night was a waste of perfectly good partying time!
- your overwhelming abundance of clothes and accessories that you took great pride in buying and wearing. If you look around today you will see that many of the girls are wearing your outfits as they wanted to honor you in this way.
- your love of going for coffee with friends and enjoying a good chat session. We could always count on you to keep us all updated of the latest local happenings and gossip.
- your pleasure of calling Michael in the middle of the night to come and check your mouse traps because you were sure you heard one go off.
- your love of Cheez Whiz sandwiches which always had to consist of only one piece of buttered bread that was spread with the cheez whiz and then FOLDED in half, not cut (as Michelle quickly learned after doing it wrong once).
- your joy in watching Curling, the Calgary Stampede, CNN, and many of the newer reality shows and then phoning either Marc, Clint, or one of the kids to discuss everything that you had just watched.
- the love you brought to your kids, grandkids and great grandkids in helping them out whenever the need would arise.
- the satisfaction that we are sure you had in never revealing who was the actual TRUE Golden Child. (by the way, Mike still thinks its him).
- the relief you felt in knowing that your new ‘apartment’ was high enough so that no dogs could pee on you, nor could the mice climb that high and get in.
And so, it is with love and gratitude that we now commit all these fond memories to be locked away in our hearts. We are grateful that you have been a part of our lives but now wish you well on the next part of your journey.
May you travel safely, and know that our love goes with you wherever you are. You have left everyone here with so many warm memories and a beautiful legacy of love for your family and friends. We are never going to forget you, and in that knowledge may you now rest in peace and be reunited with Kelly, your parents, and your siblings and friends who have gone on before you.
