Obituary of Eleanor Faye Fisher
Eleanor Faye Fisher {nee Hicks} passed away on November 24, 2024 at the age of 85.
Eleanor was born on May 4, 1939 on the family farm in Ninga Manitoba to Edmund and Myrtle Hicks. She is the oldest of 8 children: 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
She is predeceased by her husband Glen Fisher, her parents Edmund and Myrtle Hicks, and also by 3 siblings: Cliff Hicks, Byron (Jean) Hicks and Karen Hicks.
She is survived by her brother Burt (Darlene) Hicks of Melita MB, Brenda (Richard) Mitchell of Lethbridge AB, Ralph (Helen) Hicks of Melville SK and Lyle (Jean) Hicks of Regina SK.
Eleanor is also survived by her four children:
- Sherry Wilkinson (Vic Collomb) of Winnipeg MB
- Connie Fisher of Calgary AB
- Trudy (Ronald) Ramseyer of High Level, AB
- Christine (Doug) Watson of Quesnel, BC.
July 4, 1956 Eleanor married Glen Russell Fisher. Their wedding took place in Melita Manitoba. After traveling the prairies with the oil crews for a couple of years, they settled in British Columbia's Cariboo Region at Dunkley Lumber Camp in May 1959. Later moving into Quesnel in 1972.
An avid gardener, Eleanor also enjoyed knitting, sewing and reading. She assisted many who were sick, going to their homes and caring for them. She was always willing to lend a hand wherever there was a need.
Eleanor had strong faith in the resurrection promised, we will meet again in Paradise.
