We had the pleasure of teaching and knowing Larry for many years. He helped us when we were building our house in Bouchie Lake. One of our happiest memories was the Friday evening that we spent at the Crain’s Homestead on the Gravell Ferry road, sitting round a pot bellied stove with mom and dad and the boys. We heard so many tales of their adventures on their trek from Alaska to Quesnel. This was 50 years ago and we will never forget that evening. Good Bye LARRY.

We got to know Larry and Dianne through our fishing adventures together. Larry taught us many areas to tour and fish in the Bella Coola area. He always captained his boat on his flying bridge, rain or shine! We had lots of good laughs together and enjoyed his colourful stories and his crab feeds! His family was of most importance to him.
We will miss him. Our condolences to the Crain Family. Our thoughts are close by.

I was a teacher at Correlieu and had the Crain boys in my Community Recreation class. We went around the Bowron Lakes together, and we saw how Larry, Steven and Melvin enjoyed the outdoors. Always enjoyed speaking to Mr. And Mrs. Crain too.
Sorry for your loss. It sounds like you have many happy memories together.

We don’t even know where to start, to tell you how special Larry and his family are to us. It is with such sadness, heavy hearts and oh so many tears to travel back in time and remember! Wayne met Larry at Fairview College in 1974. Because they were the first ones to arrive, they were assigned to the same room. They got along from day one and stayed best friends throughout their lives. Wayne adopted the Crain’s as is 2nd family. Wayne made the trek to Q up he married in 1983. Wayne and his wife, Rita honeymooned in Quesnel, and was trusted to be the Godparents to Alan and Missy. Adopted Teisha in to that fold when her Godmother, her Grandma Zirk passed. We holidayed every summer with Larry and Dianne for years. Our son’s got into sports, so our holidays and time were put on hold for a few years. But we never lost contact or interest in each other’s family. It is when we became “empty nesters “ our holidays together started back up again! Camping, ocean fishing with lots of adventures included, and of course our trip to Vancouver! For quite a few years, Larry and Dianne would come out every fall to help us with harvest (thank goodness, Rita speaking)! In 2014, (our youngest son’s wedding) our family’s were reunited! And then again in 2015, for our 100th Farm Anniversary! Oh, that was so special and heart warming! We still talked about going to Alaska together and more camping trips. There are so, so many memories! We will miss you so very much Larry. Love and hugs to Dianne, Al, Barb, Ariel, Josh and family, Missy, Mike, Jade, Owen and Marshall, Teisha, Ryan, Chloe and Kylie. Our condolences to Steven and his family and to Melvin.
